Police have nabbed three persons in possession of over 143 kilogrammes of marijuana from Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City-11 along the East-West Highway in Makawanpur district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team deployed from Makawanpur District Police Office made the arrest during a security check on a vehicle (Na 1 Kha 9910) where the contraband drug was hidden, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jayashwor Rimal.
The vehicle was headed to Hetauda from Manahari. The arrestees have been identified as vehicle driver Sanak Bahadur Tamang, his helper Somey Tamang, both the residents of Bahrabise Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district and Sabin Tamang of Raksirang Rural Municipality-1 in Makawanpur.
Investigations into the case was underway, said DSP Rimal.
