Two held with 40 kg of cannabis in Parsa

Parsa Police have arrested two persons with 40 kg of marijuana in their possession. They were apprehended from Paterwasugauli Rural Municipality of Parsa district. The arrested have been identified as 39-year-old Bir Bahadur Praja and 19-year-old Sona Lal Praja, residents of Raksirang Rural Municipality-5 in Makawanpur district.

A police team had been deployed after it received information that cannabis was being transported from Manahari Lothar of Makawanpur via the forests of Parsa National Park.

The accused were arrested from Makwani Chauri in Paterwasugauli-2 at 1 am on Tuesday by the police team deployed from Area Police Office, Paterwasugauli. DSP Om Prakash Khanal, Spokesperson of the District Police Office (DPO) of Parsa, informed that the accused had been carrying the marijuana in three sacks. He said both the accused have been kept in custody at the DPO and further investigation is being carried out.
