One of two rescued from Bheri River dies; another still missing

Two of the three persons swept away by Bheri River were rescued while one of them went missing in Rukum (West) district today. One of the rescued persons died in the hospital.

The rescued have been identified as Ram Bahadur Dangi (17) and Geeta Dangi. The one who has gone missing is Deepa, the elder sister of Geeta. They are the residents of Chaurjahari Municipality-12 in the district.

According to police in Jajarkot district, Ram Bahadur had accompanied the two sisters on the visit to Rawat village in Bheri Municipality-1 to meet their relatives. On the way, they decided to go for a swim in the river. Ram Bahadur was swept away by the river at first. Immediately, the two sisters put effort into saving him police said.  Locals were able to rescue Geeta and Ram Bahadur. However, Deepa went missing in the river, police informed.

The rescued persons were rushed to Jajarkot hospital, where Geeta breathed her last while Ram Bahadur has been receiving treatment. He is said to be in normal condition now.

Meanwhile, the search is on for the missing girl. Jajarkot police informed.
