The water level in the Melamchi River has started rising again due to the continuous rains that the country has been witnessing since the past few days. The floods in the Melamchi River a couple of weeks back had created havoc in the area and the locals are terrified at the moment.

Due to the heavy rainfall since Wednesday the area in between Helambu and Melamchi is in danger again and the police have requested people living in the area to remain alert. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has mentioned that floods could again occur along the banks of the Melamchi River and has advised locals living in the vicinity to relocate to safer places.

A few houses and some agricultural land that were not affected by the floods on June 15 and June 19 in the area are in danger due to the current water level in the Melamchi River that has been rising, as per locals.
