KATHMANDU: The combination of westerly and local winds, along with a low-pressure system near Bangladesh and Assam in India, is partially influencing the weather in Nepal.
As of Saturday morning, the hilly regions—including the Koshi, Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces—are experiencing partly to mostly cloudy skies. In contrast, the rest of the country is generally clear, according to the Weather Forecast Division.
This afternoon, the hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are expected to remain partly to mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions.
Light rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is possible in some areas of the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in certain hilly areas of other provinces.
The Division has also noted a chance of light snowfall in one or two locations in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, the hilly regions are anticipated to remain partly to mostly cloudy, while the rest of the nation is expected to have partly cloudy to mostly clear weather.
The morning bulletin from the Division indicated a possibility of light rain in a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with light snowfall in select locations in the high hills and Himalayan zones.
