Youth held with INRs 2 lakh in Saptari

Police in Saptari district on Sunday morning arrested a youth in possession of banned Indian currency worth 2 lakh from Beriyaghat in Kankalini Municipality-14.

The arrested has been identified as Deepak Kumar (20) of Mahadewa Rural Municipality-5 in the district.

Security personnel deployed from the Rampur-based police post nabbed Kumar during a routine check while he was heading from India to Nepal. Security personnel also recovered 396 banknotes of denomination 500, two notes of denomination 200, one banknote of denomination 50, and four notes of denomination 10 from his possession.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said the police.
