Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is difficult at the moment to form the NC-led government.

Speaking at a function held to mark the 52nd founding day of Nepal Students Union here Monday, he said the Maoist Centre had not withdrawn its support to the government and NC did not hold a majority to form a government.

On a different note, he said that the party's general convention will be held on time and expressed the commitment to immediately give full shape to the NSU central executive committee.

NC general secretary Shashank Koirala suggested the party chair take the initiative to form and lead the next government. Squabble inside the ruling party has troubled the Nepali people, and hence it's time for the NC to take the helm.

NSU General Secretary Baldev Timilsena demanded that the NSU central executive committee be given full shape.
