The Standing Committee meeting of the CPN UML has been postponed. The meeting, which was scheduled to be held today at 5 pm, will now be held on Monday at 10 pm at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
The meeting was called by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairperson of the party. It has been reported that the meeting is likely to take a decision regarding the clarifications the party had sought from 12 lawmakers.
The CPN-UML had sent a letter on May 27 to 12 party lawmakers of the now-dissolved House of Representatives seeking clarifications from them within 24 hours. The Standing Committee meeting of the party held on May 24 had decided to expel 11 of its lawmakers from the party and seek clarifications from the remaining 12.
The 23 lawmakers had supported the opposition parties to form a new government.
