Former Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Barshaman Pun's health has improved. Pun's wife and former Speaker Onsari Gharti said that there was an initial improvement in his health.
Pun was taken to the Third People's Hospital in Shenzhen, China from Bangkok, Thailand last Friday for further treatment. He is said to be suffering from a rare disease related to jaundice. A team of more than three dozen doctors and nurses has been deployed to China for his treatment.
Central member of the Maoist center Durga Chapagain said, "I had a video call only today. His body has not been aching since yesterday. He has started eating and is talking to everyone. He also made a video call with Chairman Prachanda last evening." Chapagain also said that he would return to Nepal soon.
