Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokhrel, will be facing the vote of confidence at the National Assembly today. Pokhrel had registered the notice regarding the vote of confidence at the secretariat of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Pokhrel, who had been appointed chief minister on June 12, has to win the vote of confidence within 30 days as per Article 168 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal. The chief minister has decided to face the vote of confidence today itself so that the government can move ahead with its work.
Chief Minister Pokhrel is planning to form the Council of Ministers only after the vote of confidence is over so that there is no issue among members of the four parties that have formed a coalition government. After former Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung lost the vote of confidence Chief of Gandaki Province Sita Kumari Poudel had appointed Pokhrel as chief minister.
