Nepal elected CPN (Unified Socialist)’s parliamentary party leader

Madhav Kumar Nepal has been nominated the parliamentary party leader of the newly-formed CPN (Unified Socialist). The very first meeting of the party was held at the Federal Parliament’s New Baneshwor since its recognition from the Election Commission unanimously picked party Chair Nepal as the parliamentary leader.

The Election Commission on August 25 endorsed the formation of the party constituted by splitting from the CPN UML.

The meeting also constituted a five-member committee to draft the statute of the CPN (Unified Socialist) parliamentary party. The committee comprises lawmakers Bhawani Prasad Khapung, Niradevi Jairu, Laxmi Chaudhary, Thagendra Prakash Puri, and Sher Bahadur Kunwar as its members, according to lawmaker Kalyani Kumari Khadka.
