CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and Millennium Challenge Corporation vice-chairperson Fatima Sumar have met. Sumar, who reached Oli's private residence in Balkot at 2 pm, has left.
Chairman Oli, Standing Committee Member Bishnu Rimal, Foreign Department Chief Rajan Bhattarai and Deputy Chief of Publicity Department Surya Thapa were present at the meeting. The two delegations discussed the issue of MCC.
While the parliament is debating whether to pass the MCC or not, a team including Vice President Sumar came to Nepal and met the opposition party. Sumar, who is in Nepal on a four-day visit, is scheduled to meet top leaders.
She will meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', Chairman of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the Federal Council of the Janata Samajwadi Party. She will also be meeting leaders including Baburam Bhattarai and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma.
According to a source, Sumar is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Deuba on Friday afternoon.
