Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has said the party should be governed in a system.

Inaugurating the convention of the NC Kathmandu Metropolis, Singh, also the former deputy Prime Minister, said the 14th general convention of the party would be spectacular to enliven the party in a systematic manner.

The party would be consolidated and cleansed from the upcoming general convention, leader Singh asserted.

NC’s former general secretary Singh had also declared his candidacy to the post of party’s central President. He urged the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ramchandra Poudel to serve the party as guardians from the 14th general convention.

Likewise, NC central member Gagan Thapa said the NC should strategically move ahead to fight and win the upcoming elections alone. “We should put our efforts to make our party organisation robust and reliable in a way to win the elections even if the communist forces are united”.

He also suggested overhauling the party’s life so as to protect the country from the menace of communists.

Also speaking on the occasion were NC central member Dhyan Govinda Ranjeet, NC Kathmandu District President Sabuj Baniya, and Kathmandu Metropolis deputy mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi, among others.
