Top leaders of the ruling parties have urged Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba to take initiatives in ending the impasse in the federal parliament.

Attending the meeting of the five ruling parties at the official residence of the PM in Baluwatar on Friday, they suggested that the PM held a dialogue with the chairperson of the main opposition CPN (UML) KP Sharma Oli to this effect, said Beduram Bhusal, General Secretary of the CPN (Unified Socialist).

The attending parties- the NC, the CPN (Maoist Centre), the Unified Socialists, the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, and the Rashtriya Janamorcha- agreed to organize additional discussion following a dialogue with chairman Oli on the matter.

The UML has been obstructing the parliament session since the beginning, putting forth its demands.

The meeting also discussed issues of ensuring victory to the candidates from the alliance in the National Assembly election scheduled for January 12. The coalition has already registered the nomination of common candidates for the election.
