Problems have been brewing in the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP) over the last couple of weeks due to the differences on whether or not the party should have supported the alliance led by Nepali Congress to form a new government.
The faction led by Chairperson Mahanta Thakur was in support of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and did not want to forge an alliance with the opposition parties to form a government. However, Chairperson Upendra Yadav wanted to join the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) to form a government. As a result, differences had surfaced between Thakur and Yadav.
To resolve the issue Thakur and Yadav have decided to hold talks which is expected to take place today.
