The CPN UML standing committee meeting scheduled to be held today was postponed. The meeting was supposed to take place at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, at 4:00 pm today.

UML party office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang said the standing committee meeting was postponed for Thursday as leaders were holding informal consultation to protect the unity of the party.

UML General Secretary Iswar Pokahrel held a discussion with party leader Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai today. Matters relating to the present state of affairs and the ways to address proposals of the two warring factions in the party were discussed, according to General Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel's secretariat.

The second-generation leaders of both the factions are currently holding informal discussions as a last resort to save the party's unity.
