Nepal is facing Iran today in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers. The match will take place in the Republican Central Stadium in Tajikistan at 4:45 pm in the afternoon.
The chief coach of the Nepali football team, Balgopal Maharjan said that the Nepali team is planning a positive start. “All three teams are very strong but we will give it our best”, said Maharjan.
This is Nepal’s 2nd meet with Iran in the u-23 Asian Cup qualifiers, Nepal had faced Iran in 2015 where Nepal was defeated with a score of 5-0.
Nepal is to face the host country Tajikistan in the second match on October 28th, while the final match in the group stage qualifiers will be with Lebanon on 31st October.
The top team in the group will qualify for the U-23 AFC Asian Cup while the second place in the group will have to play against other second place teams from other groups, among them four teams will qualify fo the Asian Cup.
