President Ramchandra Paudel has said that it is necessary for the state to pay special attention to prepare athletes from the local level to make the country known to the world through sports.
President Paudel said this while inaugurating the 14th President's Running Shield competition held at Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday.
He expressed the view that the state should focus on the construction of necessary resources, skilled coaches and infrastructure for sports, just like building various infrastructures for development in villages. He said that it is a matter of satisfaction that this competition is moving forward as one of the main foundations of the country's sports.
"Education and sports are two sides of the same coin, classroom education opens the eyes and brains of students, while sports make the brain, limbs and mind active and disciplined", President Paudel said, "Extracurricular activities and sports are the basis for completing education, as well as attitude, skills in students.", I think it is an open field to develop knowledge, social value acquisition and work readiness.”
He said that learning from books and school boundaries alone cannot make today's students complete, and for this, there is a need for bookless education that includes family, society and environment, creative learning and education. "In my opinion, sports and such competitive activities are advanced learning methods in this direction", President Paudel said.
President Paudel said that this sports competition among students from all over the country has provided enthusiasm and motivation to the students and it has developed the leadership skills of the students who participate in the game, which is the foundation of building the country in the future. "I would like to wish you good wishes that your strong desire and organizational strength towards sports can become a pioneering effort for the prosperity and success of not only the school and that area, but also the country," he said.
