T20 Blind Cricket World Cup: Nepal trounce Afghanistan by 108 runs

KATHMANDU: Nepal have defeated Afghanistan in a match played under the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup today. Nepal trounced Afghanistan by 108 runs in its third match of the tournament held in Lahore, Pakistan.

Nepal, who were sent into batting first after losing the toss, set a 229-run victory target for Afghanistan. However, Afghanistan made only 120 runs losing all their wickets.

Vice captain Padam Bahadur Badaila and Naresh Chaudhary played a half-century parry for Nepal. Badaila amassed unbeaten 92 runs off 51 balls while Chaudhary made 72 runs off 62 balls. Similarly, Bharat Thapa hit 21 runs and Sagar Lama four runs while Afghanistan bowlers had conceded extra 39 runs to Nepal.

For Afghanistan, Abashin made 52 runs, Dwaran 21 runs and Sharafat 13 runs.

Towards bowling, Nepal's Sunil Rana Magar took three wickets while Bharat Thapa, Amish Guragain and Sunil Subedi Chhetri each took one wicket.

Nepal will play its fourth match against South Africa on Tuesday.

Nepal faced defeat to Sri Lanka in their first match and to Bangladesh in the second match before this.

Along with Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa are vying in the T20 Blind Cricket World Cup.
