The mortal remains of 54-year-old Puwei Liu were airlifted to Teaching Hospital at Maharajgunj in Kathmandu where a post mortem examination will be conducted on the dead body.

The American climber had fallen to death in Camp IV (above 7,900 m) in the 8,848.86 metres mountain while he was descending upon his successful summit of Sagarmatha, according to Information Officer Rishiraj Dhakal at the District Police Office, Solukhumbu.

The rescue team had been able to rescue the dead body of the climber from the highest mountain in the world due to the adverse weather. The dead body was airlifted today itself from Lukla to Kathmandu as the weather conditions improved, informed Dhakal.
