The Nepal-India border, which has been closed for four days, is open from today. The Jhul Ghat checkpoint of Baitadi, which borders India, was closed on February 11 in view of the February 14 assembly elections in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.
Baitadi Police Spokesperson Inspector Darshan Khadka informed that the traffic was resumed with the opening of the closed checkpoint. The checkpoint was closed due to security concerns during the election. It was said that if the border has to be opened in an unprecedented event during the closed period, it can be opened by mutual consent.
