He’s scaled Mount Everest 25 times already and now he turns 52. Born in 1970 in Thame, Solukhumbu Climber Kami Rita usually celebrates his birthday partaking in rituals and customs of her culture. This year, as a birthday resolution Kami Rita has committed to climbing Everest for a 26th time he shares with NepalNews. He had planned to Climb Everest thai coming spring in an expedition to climb Mt. Everest in 2020 however after the virus he now plans to climb Everest again in 2022.
His 25th expedition was an ascent to the top on the 7th of May, 2021.
His 1st ever summit of the peak was in 1994, since then he’s climbed the peak of the world almost every year. Also climbing 8,000 meter and higher peaks about 38 times.
Speaking of his future plans Rita has committed to working as a mountain guide and working towards promoting tourism and mountaineering more in the future. He’s worked many international gigs, participating in the Ice and Rock Festival in Khumbu at the Pasang Lhamu village the past year.
Kami Rita, a man devoted to culture, a man that belongs to the mountains, a man of the nation contributing to its development his entire life has also been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for his achievement in the world of mountaineering.
