While the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) announced advance ticket booking for Dashain and Tihar from September 27, the ticket counters at Bus Park are the same as normal days.

Binod Subedi, bus conductor says, ‘Due to pandemic, most of the people has moved to their villages, and not many have returned back to the valley. So, we can see very few people coming in to buy tickets. There is also an online ticket system which is also one of the reasons for slow turn out this year.”

Dilu Pakhrin, who works at the bus park claims that the crowd is less compared to the previous year.

He stated, “The crowd will increase after the Ghatasthapana (first day of Dashain) and most of the people won’t even get tickets during that time which will create big chaos. So, it would be easier and safe if people started to buy tickets earlier rather than doing it at the last minute.”
