Fires have broken out in 60 forests in Kalikot district. The District Forest Office, Kalikot said bushfires have been reported in 56 community forests and four government forests in the district so far.
Around 1200 hectares of forest has been destroyed by wildfires broke out in 47 different community forests of six local levels in Myagdi district with the start of the dry season this year.
Wildfires broken out in at least a dozen community forests in Doti district are yet to be put out. The nearby settlements are at high risk due to this.
