Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet said that early preparedness should be the first condition for disaster risk reduction (DRR) and many disasters could be prevented if early preparedness activities are implemented robustly.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, asserted that disasters could not be reduced to nil but could be mitigated for which he called for the right management.
