Three cheetah cubs born to a big cat that was brought to India from Africa last year died in central India’s Kuno National Park in the past week, forest officials said, as a heat wave in the region sent temperatures soaring.
The South African Cheetah 'Uday' died due to cardiopulmonary failure at Kuno National Park situated in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district, an official said on Tuesday.
Two cheetahs who were flown in from Namibia and released in Kuno National Park made their first kill within 24 hours of being released into a large enclosure, DFO Prakash Kumar Verma.
Two cheetahs among the eight cheetahs brought from Namibia, shifted to a larger enclosure of Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur district on Saturday, an official said.
