The opposition parties have filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the decision of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari to dissolve the House of Representatives and announce mid-term elections.

The Election Commission has suggested the PM to conduct the elections in a single phase by making all necessary security arrangement.

Joint General Secretary of main opposition Nepali Congress, Prakash Sharan Mahat, has said the party's main aim is mid-term elections.
