KATHMANDU: After a drop of 1,200 rupees on Friday, gold prices have continued to fall significantly today, with silver also becoming cheaper.
Gold, which had increased by 4,500 rupees last week, has decreased by 2,200 rupees per tola today.
On Friday, the price also dropped by 1,200 rupees. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation, gold is currently priced at 150,800 rupees per tola, down from 153,000 rupees last Friday.
Gold saw increases of 400 rupees per tola on Monday, 2,100 rupees on Tuesday, and 2,000 rupees on Wednesday, before stabilizing on Thursday and then falling by 1,200 rupees on Friday.
Today, silver has also dropped by 20 rupees per tola. The price of silver, which was 1,860 rupees last Friday, is now 1,840 rupees per tola, according to the Federation.
