KATHMANDU: Gold prices jumped by 2,200 rupees in just one day, reaching an all-time high.
As reported by the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders Association, the price today (Wednesday) stands at 170,700 rupees per tola, up from Rs 168,500 the previous day.
Silver also saw a rise, priced at Rs 2,120 per tola, an increase of Rs 15 from yesterday's Rs 2,105.
With gold prices hitting new heights, there has been a significant rise in public purchases, especially with Tihar approaching.
Local traders note that gold is regarded as a secure investment, providing immediate cash when needed, which has led many to buy in larger quantities.
