Modern agricultural tools and equipment were handed over to farmers involved in commercial sugarcane farming in Laljhadi Rural Municipality of Kanchanpur district.
The support in the form of the grant was made under the Chief Minister Model Agro Village programme run by the Sudur Paschim provincial government.
The initiative is part of the Chief Minister Integrated Agriculture and Livestock Development Programme. The agro tools and equipment have been expected to help the sugarcane farmers to increase productivity while lessening the labour cost, said the chief of agriculture knowledge centre, Dil Bahadur Bista. Power tiller, mini-tiller, razor, rotavator and pump set for irrigation were distributed to the farmers.
In addition to this, developed seeds, insecticides, chemical fertilisers were also provided.
