A house owner has been arrested on charge of not letting out a room to a Dalit in Kathmandu. The police have arrested Saraswati Pradhan, who owns a house in Babar Mahal, Kathmandu. She was arrested after a complaint was filed by Rupa Sunar, a journalist by profession.
The police informed that Pradhan was arrested for further investigation after a complaint was lodge against her for not letting out a room to Sunar because she was a Dalit.
According to Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, Pradhan was arrested today after taking permission from the court to remand her to three days of judicial custody.
