The ruling coalition is meeting to discuss the US aid project MCC. The meeting will start at 10 am at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar.
This meeting will decide whether to submit the MCC to Parliament or not.
Several meetings of the ruling coalition held in the past in an attempt to form a consensus had been inconclusive. After the coalition meeting held last Friday, government spokesperson and communications minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki had said that Sunday's meeting would be decisive.
The US government has given a deadline of March 3 to pass the MCC from the Parliament of Nepal. So the government is under a lot of pressure. However, since the ruling parties are divided on the issue of MCC, it is unlikely that a consensus will emerge today either.
