Police on Wednesday night arrested a youth on the charge of raping a teenage girl in Nagarjun Municipality-6 of Kathmandu district.
The arrested has been identified as Bir Bahadur Tamang (34) of Melamchi Municipality-1 in Sindhupalchowk district.
Acting on the information about the rape incident, a team of security personnel deployed from Swayambhu-based Metropolitan Police Circle arrested the accused.
According to police, Tamang raped the 18-year-old girl in a shelter with a metal roof in Phasku.
Meanwhile, investigation into the incident is underway.
