Elena Gurung; Video creator
With 82.8k followers on instagram, Elena Gurung is famous for caricatures and creating comedy videos. Gurung explains, “Being a social media influencer is a long and slow process and cannot be achieved overnight.”
“It isn’t the same these days, but it was especially a slow and long journey for me as I started getting brand deals and offers only after I crossed over 25 thousand followers on Instagram”, she adds. The only reason Gurung started making videos was because she loved making one. She wanted to make people laugh with her videos. “To make people happy even if it is just for a short time was and still is my main objective to make these videos”, she says.
Yabesh Thapa; Artist
A young talented artist Yabesh Thapa is known for his love songs. He not only worked on his singles but also collaborated with several other singers, musicians like Oasis Thapa, Vek and more.
Thapa says that, “I feel like I got into the music industry at the correct time. As the music industry is changing slowly, I feel lucky to be a part of the industry right when I myself is evolving as an artist.” Thapa's current favorite song to perform is ‘K huncha bhanera’. “When I’m performing this song, I sing it on the track as I like to pick the mic up and vibe with the crowds”, he says.
“Especially when the song reaches the ‘thaha cha malai’ moment in the middle of the song and everyone starts singing together. I see everyone vibing to the music so ‘K huncha bhanera’ is my go to song”, he adds. He has 42.6k followers on Instagram.
Rojisha Shahi Thakuri; Model, actress and psychologist
From a model, actress and psychologist, Rojisha Shahi Thakuri is an all-rounder. She was the winner of Miss Nepal Earth 2013 and represented Nepal in Miss Earth 2013 in the Philippines.
“If I were to describe myself it would be as a person who always looks forward, I’m persistent in always wanting to seek growth. I simply love that feeling when I’m getting stuff done and moving ahead on a personal level. I’m always looking for the next thing I want to do. My mom often uses the words “Ashantusthi’ to describe me”, she says. With 25.5k followers on Instagram, she is also one of the well-known influencers in Nepal.
James Shrestha; Youtuber
James Shrestha is a youtuber who has won more than 891,000 subscribers with his vlogs full of comedies, sketches, games, pranks, reactions and many more. He’s also popular on Instagram, where he has over 116k followers.
After posting his first video in April 2015, “DANCE KASARI NAGARNE,” after that he was inactive for more than 2 years and started uploading again in February of 2017 and escalated amassed subscribers after that.
Lhakyila; Vlog artist and Instagram star
Being one of the most admired Instagram stars of Nepal, 24 years old Lhakyila is well-known for her comedy vines, vlogs on platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. In 2016, she became the most followed female celebrity of Nepal on Instagram and thenceforth, she started getting very popular. Her full name is Tenzin Lhakyila Maharjan, but she is popular with her nickname Lhakyila. She has 218k followers on Instagram and 148k subscribers on YouTube.
