Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song has articulated China's readiness to provide utmost support to Nepal for its socio-economic development.

In an interaction jointly organized by the China Media Group Asia Pacific and Sino Nepal Media Society in Kathmandu today, Chinese envoy Song reiterated that China desired to witness Nepal's economic development.

Stating that the projects under the Belt and Road Initiatives (BRI) were in the interest of Nepal, the reform plans outlined by the recently held Third Plenum of the 20th central committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) were important for China's neighbouring countries like Nepal.

He expressed his confidence that the citizens of both countries would benefit hugely from the reform plans.

"Those reform plans would be useful in advancing network building that would connect Nepal and China across the Himalayas as well as in optimizing the capacity of Nepal's agriculture, industry, trade, digital technology, energy and tourism sector thereby opening up opportunities of prosperity for Nepal," he added.

On a different note, the Chinese envoy said that the Third Plenum of the 20th central committee of the CPC also conveyed the message of China's consistent reform bid and openness.

According to him, the CPC was embarking on a new journey in a new era by resolutely batting on reforms and openness.

Similarly, Bishnu Rijal, the central committee member of the CPN (UML), asserted that Nepal and China, which strongly uphold views such as universal equality, mutual interest and long-lasting friendship, share a cordial relation.

"This is the basis of the troubled-free friendship of the two countries. China has been generously supporting in Nepal's bid for development while Nepal always has taken China's concerns into consideration," Rijal observed.

He expressed his belief that the governments of both countries will soon decide on the modality for the implementation of the BRI giving headway for the implementation of those projects.

Expressing his happiness that the relation between Nepal and China was being intensified at the people-to-people level which, he said, has greatly helped to increase understanding and mutual interest between the two friendly countries.

Likewise, Kishor Shrestha, Chairman of Nepal-China Media Forum, admitted that Nepal and the rest of the world could learn a great deal from China's development and prosperity.

He argued that the communication sector would play an important role in strengthening the people-to-people ties to sustain mutual cooperation and assured that our media institutions were dedicated to authentic, impartial and responsible journalism.

Also speaking in the programme, China Media Group Asia Pacific Director Cao Yi admired that warmth and sincerity of Nepalis had embodied Nepal's identity and every time he visits Nepal, he feels like visiting an 'old friend's house'.

He assessed that Nepal was in pursuit of a pathway for development and was striving to achieve independence, self-strengthening, development and prosperity.

He figuratively said that relations between the peoples of the two countries were as high as the highest mountain Sagarmatha.
