J-K: Terrorist injured during Rajouri encounter found dead

 The body of a second terrorist, who got injured during an encounter in Rajouri early this month, was recovered from Dhakikot area in adjoining Reasi district on Friday morning, police said.

Grenades, magazines and other materials were also recovered from the slain terrorist, police said.

On Friday morning, joint teams of forces including the police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) located the body of the terrorist from a gorge where he fell while trying to escape the hot chase of security forces.

The terrorists were suspected to be involved in many terror-crime cases of the Rajouri-Poonch region including the recent attack on Special Forces at Kesari Hill and the Dhangri terror incident, said a statement from Rajouri Police.

Based on intelligence input, a joint operation by the Army's Rashtriya Rifles and J&K Police was launched on August 5 in Khawas village in the Budhal area of the district.

The first terrorist was gunned down during the encounter on August 5 only.

Indian Army said that repeated attempts were made by terrorists to break down the cordon and they were thwarted by controlled fire throughout the night. Night enabled Quadcopters, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Sniffer Dogs were also used in the operation, the statement said. (ANI)
