A leader who became a member of parliament after becoming famous as a YouTuber in Japan has been expelled. He was expelled from the Parliament after he was not present in the House for a single day after being elected as a Member of Parliament.

Yoshikazu Higashitani, who was elected last July, was expelled by the upper house of Japan after he did not attend the mandatory parliamentary meeting and session.

Yoshikazu, known by the nickname Gasi, has become the first Member of Parliament to be expelled from the Japanese parliament after 70 years. Earlier, the House had ordered him to apologise for his months-long absence, but he ignored it.

Two MPs have been elected from his nineteen-year-old party. Even if he is expelled, another member will work in his place.

A former businessman living in Dubai, said that he will be arrested if he returns to Japan. He said that the relevant authorities may arrest him for questioning on the charge of defamation. His party was known as the NHK Party, which campaigned for change in Japan's public broadcasting organisation.
