Covid Special Hospital re-operated

In view of the increasing corona infection, the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences has re-operated Corona Special Hospital. The 100-bed Covid Special Hospital operated by the foundation has 20 ventilators and 20-bed ICU beds said Vice-Chancellor of the Foundation Prof Dr. Ram Kewal Sah.

In addition, an oxygen plant with a capacity of up to 50 cylinders per day has been installed at Covid Special Hospital, said Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Sah. According to the foundation, two Covid infected people are currently undergoing treatment at the Kovid Special Hospital and the health condition of both the infected people is normal.

As most of the beds in the Covid Special Hospital are now vacant, three to four patients with other ailments are being treated daily, said Dr. Sah. The special hospital was inspected by Health and Population Minister Virodh Khatiwada and Madhesh Minister for Social Development Nawal Kishor Sahal last Wednesday. The foundation, which operates with an annual grant of Rs 100 million from the state government, had run Covid Hospital in the previous Corona period as well.

A health desk has been set up at the Dhanusha border with India in view of the rapidly spreading Covid-19 infection. Chief District Officer Surendra Poudel informed that antigen testing is being carried out by setting up a health desk at Inaruwa of Janakandani village of Dhanusha and Mahuwa of Khajuri village bordering India saying that infected people could enter Nepal from neighboring India. Besides, preparations are being made to set up a health desk at Jatahi Naka in Nagarain of Dhanusha, he said.
