An additional 1.6 million Moderna vaccines arrived in Nepal on Monday from Qatar through the Covax facility. Dr Surendra Chaurasia, chief of the Logistic Management of the supply management branch of Department of Health Services informed that a 1.6 million Moderna vaccine has arrived in Nepal on Monday evening. The Moderna vaccine is given to children under 18 years of age.
Dr Chaurasia informed that out of 4 million doses of vaccine, the remaining 2.34 million will arrive today.
While the vaccines are coming in, Dr Chaurasia says that there was no decision on who would receive the vaccines. The previous vaccinations were given to children under the age of 18 in 57 districts, including 11 in Province 1, five in Madhes, seven in Bagmati, nine in Gandaki, Lumbini, nine in Karnali and seven in Far Western Province.
