A person died and another one sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were riding on collided head-on with a truck in Mechinagar Municipality-13 of Jhapa district on Tuesday.
Police identified the deceased as motorcyclist Prabesh Bayalkoti (21) and the injured as pillion rider Sagar Limbu (22), both residents of Pathari Sanischare Municipality-9 in Morang district.
The accident occurred when the motorcycle ( Ko 28 Pa 8891) was hit by a truck in Mechinagar along the East-West Highway last night, police informed.
Seriously injured Bayalkoti breathed his during the course of treatment at Birtamod-based B&C Hospital today, according to police.
The injured is receiving treatment at the Manakamana Hospital at Charali, police informed.
Meanwhile, police have impounded the truck and detained its driver Suman Danuwar (56) of Arjundhara Municipality-2, Jhapa for further investigation into the incident.
