The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Sunday reported 7,137 new cases of coronavirus infection in Nepal. The addition of new cases has taken the country's COVID-19 tally to 336,030. Additionally, 74 persons have tested positive for the virus in the Antigen test conducted in the past 24 hours.
Likewise, the three districts of Kathmandu valley have reported 3,595 new cases of coronavirus infection — 2,744 in Kathmandu, 550 in Lalitpur, and 301 in Bhaktapur — in the past 24 hours.
As many as 1,612 patients of COVID-19 have recovered in the past 24 hours. With this, a total of 283,994 persons infected with coronavirus in the country have recovered as of Sunday. At present, the recovery rate stands at 84.5 per cent as per the data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
The nationwide death toll from COVID-19 has reached 3,325 with the report of 27 more deaths from COVID-19 of which 14 persons died in the past 24 hours. Presently, there are 48,711 active cases in Nepal.
Earlier, the MoHP on Saturday had reported 5,706 cases of coronavirus that had taken the nationwide tally to 328, 893.
As of Sunday, a total of 2,504,476 persons have undergone the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. Presently, there are 48,711 persons staying in isolation while 67 others have been placed in quarantine in the country.
More than 152.12 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus worldwide while at least 3,328,790 people have died from COVID-19, following an outbreak that started in Wuhan, China, in early December, a Reuters tally showed as of 01:21 PM (London Time) on Sunday, May 2, 2021.
