Police have arrested a man on charge of killing an elderly man from Beni Municipality-5 in Myagdi district.
The deceased has been identified as Bhakta Bahadur Karki (55), a local resident of Beni Municipality-5.
The accused has been identified as Sanjaya Baniya (31), a local resident of Baguwakhola in the same municipality.
Karki had been out of contact since the morning of June 20. Baniya allegedly beat Karki to death and threw the deceased's body in Myagdi River, said the police.
Security personnel deployed from the Myagdi-based District Police Office (DPO) nabbed the accused while he was trying to flee.
Further investigation into the case is underway, informed DPO, Myagdi.
