APF mobilises over 29,000 human resources under 'festival security plan'

The Armed Police Force (APF) has mobilised over 29,000 personnel under the 'festival special security plan' in view of the commencement of festival season.

These APF personnel have been stationed at transit points and key areas to ensure security during the festivals, as stated by APF Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajendra Khadka.

Furthermore, the APF has established 125 citizen help desks at transit points along the Nepal-India and Nepal-China borders, aiming to facilitate people's movement and enhance their safety during the festive period. In cases of necessity, the APF personnel will also be responsible for conducting rescue operations.

Likewise, the APF has established health desks at 33 locations.

 Similarly, the disaster management bases established in eight locations: Mulghat of Dhankuta, Nijgadh of Bara, Adamghat of Dhading, Beni of Myagdi, Bhalubang of Dang, Chiple of Surkhet, Amargadhi of Dadeldhura and Khurkot of Sindhuli Dhankuta's Mulkot, Bara's Nijgadh, Dadeldhura's Amargadhi, Sindhuli's Khurkot have been further enhanced.

The APF team has guarded the Kakarvita point along the Nepal-India border in Jhapa with the help of a sniffer dog to prevent potential cross-border offenses including the smuggling of arms, explosive substances, and drugs.

Additionally, the APF has announced to operation of Immediate Response Teams (IRT) with ambulances at 53 locations, including major highways, with the aim of reducing accidents and providing timely assistance. In each province and the Kathmandu Valley, eight advanced ambulances and a mass casualty vehicle are on standby to address emergencies.---
