Bir Hospital's contribution in health care is outstanding

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has described the contribution made by the Bir Hospital to health treatment in the country since its establishment till date is unparalleled.

Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the 133rd anniversary of Bir Hospital here today, he said the Hospital has been able to win the confidence of the general public by providing quality health treatment services.

PM Deuba expressed the government's commitment for upgrading the hospital, which, he said, is the centre of faith of the general public in medical treatment sector. "I express my best wishes to this hospital which remains as the whole country's referral hospital for further qualitative treatment service delivery in the coming days," he said.

Prime Minister Deuba thanked the health workers, doctors among other human resources of the Hospital for the 'valuable service and support' they provided for the treatment of patients whether it be during the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake or a pandemic like COVID-19.

He congratulated the Hospital for creating an environment enabling providing international-standard service by increasing its capacity to 960 beds establishing a separate identity in the national and international arena.

He expressed happiness saying the Bir Hospital has expanded its services as per the need of the public by adding to its services and technology in keeping with the time. Pointing out the need of developing the capacity to fight against various types of epidemics and fully control COVID-19. PM Deuba urged the Hospital management to make necessary arrangements so that even the cancer patients can easily avail of treatment services.

Prime Minister Deuba stressed on the need of effectively implementing various programmes useful for the health sector to increase the number of healthy people in the country and to reduce the medical treatment expenses.
