Earthquake felt in far-western region

An earthquake has been felt in some hilly districts of the far-western region including Baitadi. The quake, which struck at 12:53 last night, has shaken Baitadi, Darchula and other districts.

According to Rajesh Sharma, technical assistant at the Earthquake Measurement Center, Surkhet, the epicenter of the 4.6 magnitude earthquake was in India. The epicenter was reported below the Khada plateau in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Police said that no information has been received about the damage caused by the quake.
