Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu district has decided to provide social security allowance to families of martyrs. Chairperson of the rural municipality, Asim Rai, mentioned that priority has been accorded to families of martyrs and those who have disappeared while announcing the budget for next fiscal year 2078/79 at the sixth session of Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality.
The policies and programmes for next fiscal year have a provision of providing Rs 2,000 monthly allowance to families of those who lost their lives or have disappeared in the struggle for the establishment of federal republic in Nepal. The budget has also included a provision of providing land to landless people.
The rural municipality has announced a budget of more than Rs 466 million.
Chairperson Rai also informed that a one-time fund of Rs 5,000 will be provided annually to the Majhi community for their children’s education. He added the budget has also prioritised construction of Dudhkoshi Community Hospital, Thulung Dudhkoshi Multi-technical School and a sports stadium.
