KATHMANDU: Lila Ballav Adhikari, the former Minister of Koshi Province, was released from police custody on Monday. He had been detained earlier on charges of involvement in human trafficking.
According to Nawaraj Adhikari, the Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police at the District Police Range Kathmandu, the former province minister's release followed a decision by the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu.
He was freed in the presence of his spouse, in accordance with the decision made by the District Attorney's Office, the SP confirmed.
