Far Western University organising Int'l conference

The Far Western University is going to organise an international conference on 'Sudurpaschim Studies: Heritage, Innovation and Transformation' on December 12-14.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Ammaraj Joshi said that the international conference is being held with coordination of the Oxford University and Britain-Nepal Academic Council, UK. The University is organising the international conference for the first time after 12 years of its establishment.

Scholars of nine different countries would present working papers in the conference. Joshi shared, "Sudurpaschim is geographically, religiously, culturally and naturally rich. The International conference is going to be organised with an objective of carrying out study and research of possibilities of Sudurpaschim and promoting it."

He further said, "Discussion will also be held on the issue of West-Seti Project and Geta Medical College in the conference."

Professors of renowned universities of other countries including Oxford University are invited in the conference.

A representative of Britain-Nepal Academic Council, UK, and vice-president of Conference organising Committee, Dr Krishna Adhikari, said arrangement of virtual and physical participation in the conference has been made.

Similarly, Member-Secretary of the organising committee, Deepak Chandra Bhatta, expressed the belief that the conference would find out the potentialities of Sudurpaschim.
