The Krishnapur Municipality has set up a renewable fund of Rs 500,000 for Wadghar and Bhalmansa Municipal Committee headed by Tharu community.
A renewable fund has been set up to support the Wadghar Bhalamansa Samiti to move ahead with the work institutionally. Mayor Karna Bahadur Hamal said that the interest of the fund will be used for social work, meetings, discussions, cultural ceremonies and revival of art and culture.
"We had to set up a fund to help organize the social and cultural events," he said.
In the Tharu community, Wadghar organizes cultural programs, marital and religious activities along with the social customs of the village. Wadghar settles disputes over sharecropping and land boundaries. The place of Vadghar and Bhalamansa is considered important in the Tharu community.
Chairs worth 10 lakh has been allotted to around 72 Wadghars in the municipality while each committee has been allotted 15 chairs.
