Any people falling sick and requiring blood transfusion will get it free in Ichchhakamana rural municipality. The rural municipality will be providing the facility to the local residents.
Accordingly, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the rural municipality and Nepal Red Cross Society. Henceforth, the rural municipality residents don't need to pay for blood, said chairperson of the rural municipality Geeta Kumari Gurung.
As per the agreement, the local residents need to present an identity card of being a resident of the rural municipality or a recommendation letter from the rural municipality. Even employees working in the rural municipality can avail of the facility.
However, the rural municipality will pay the Nepal Red Cross Society for providing free blood to the patients from its jurisdiction. This is expected to help facilitate medical treatment of the local residents, Chair Gurung said.
